The Quicken Simplifi Dashboard is your financial command center—a personalized overview that helps you understand your finances at a glance. When Ashley first opened Simplifi, the Dashboard immediately showed them where their money was going and what needed attention. Let's explore each section and see how Ashley uses these features to manage their consulting income and expenses.

Elements of the Dashboard

The Dashboard contains eleven customizable tiles that provide quick insights into different aspects of your finances. You can drag and drop these tiles to create your ideal layout.

📊 Spending Plan

What it does: Shows your available spending money for the current month after accounting for bills, savings goals, and planned expenses.

Ashley's experience: As a consultant with variable income, Ashley loves this feature. They set their monthly income to $10,000 and can see they have $1,451.52 available after bills and savings. The colorful donut chart makes it easy to visualize where money is allocated.

💸 What You've Spent (in the last few days)

What it does: Tracks recent spending to help you stay aware of your current financial activity.

Ashley's experience: Ashley checks this daily to ensure they're not overspending on coffee shops and fast food—two categories they're trying to reduce.

📅 Bills & Payments

What it does: Displays upcoming bills and their due dates so you never miss a payment.

Ashley's experience: With rent ($1,800), utilities, and quarterly taxes to manage, Ashley relies on this tile to see what's due soon. The visual reminders help them maintain cash flow for their irregular income.

🏷️ Top Spending Categories (in the last 30 Days)

What it does: Highlights where most of your money goes, making spending patterns visible.

Ashley's experience: Ashley discovered they were spending $2,010 on Auto & Transport and $1,800 on Home expenses. This insight helped them identify areas to potentially reduce spending to meet their car savings goal.

🎯 Savings Goals

What it does: Tracks progress toward your financial goals with visual progress bars.

Ashley's experience: Ashley set up a $25,000 savings goal for a new car. The 12% progress bar motivates them to stay on track, showing $3,000 saved so far with $22,000 left to save.

👁️ Spending Watchlist

What it does: Monitors specific spending areas you want to keep an eye on, with customizable targets.

Ashley's experience: Ashley created watchlists for "Coffee Shops" and "Fast Food" to track discretionary spending that tends to creep up throughout the month.

📈 Spending By Month (over the last 6 months)

What it does: Shows spending trends over time to help identify patterns and seasonal variations.

Ashley's experience: This helped Ashley notice their spending increases during tax season when they need to purchase additional software and services for clients.

💰 Income by Month (over the last 6 months)

What it does: Displays income trends to help you understand earning patterns.

🏆 Achievements

What it does: Gamifies your financial progress with badges for milestones like login streaks and savings goals.

Ashley's experience: Ashley earned the "Prepped for Prosperity" badge for setting up their accounts and finds the motivation helpful for building good financial habits.

📊 Investments

What it does: Shows investment account balances and performance at a glance.

Ashley's experience: Ashley monitors their IRA contributions here, ensuring they're on track for their $1,000 monthly retirement savings goal.

💳 Credit Score

What it does: Displays your current credit score with monthly updates and tips for improvement.

Ashley's experience: Ashley's score of 661 (Good) is displayed with a visual gauge. They use this to track progress as they work toward better rates for their future car loan.

Customizing Your Dashboard

Click and drag any tile to rearrange your Dashboard. Ashley organized theirs with the Spending Plan at the top since they check it most frequently, followed by Bills & Payments and Savings Goals.

To reset your layout, hover over the left panel, select Profile, then choose Reset Dashboard Layout.

Pro Tips from Ashley

  1. Check daily: Ashley spends 2 minutes each morning reviewing their Spending Plan and recent transactions

  2. Use as shortcuts: Click any tile to dive deeper into that financial area

  3. Customize for your needs: Ashley moved their Savings Goals tile to a prominent position for daily motivation

  4. Business tip: While there's no dedicated business tile, Ashley uses Tags to separate business and personal expenses within each tile's data

Account List Management

If you're using Quicken Business & Personal, you can customize your account list order:

  1. Click the three-dot icon next to + Account

  2. Select Customize account list

  3. Drag accounts to reorder them

  4. Click Update

Ashley keeps their business checking account at the top for easy access during work hours.
