How to Hide Closed Accounts and Savings Goals from the Accounts List
Quick Review
What: Hide closed accounts and savings goals breakdown from your Accounts List
Why: Declutter your view to focus on active accounts
How: Three dots menu > Deselect Show Closed Accounts or Show Savings Goals Breakdown
Note: Hidden items still exist, just not displayed
Overview
Your Quicken Simplifi Accounts List can become cluttered over time with closed accounts showing $0 balances or savings goals contributions that make it harder to see your actual available balances. Simplifi lets you customize this view by hiding elements you don't need to see daily.
Ashley uses these hiding options to keep their Accounts List focused on what matters for daily financial management.
Hiding Closed Accounts
When you close an account in Simplifi, it remains in your data for historical tracking but shows a $0 balance. Hiding these accounts declutters your view while preserving your financial history.
To Hide Closed Accounts:
Click the three dots to the upper right of the Accounts List
Deselect Show Closed Accounts so there is no longer a checkmark next to it
Your closed accounts immediately disappear from view. They're not deleted, just hidden.
Why Hide Closed Accounts?
Reduces visual clutter
Focuses attention on active accounts
Maintains historical data for reports
Can unhide anytime if needed
Hiding Savings Goals
When you hide Savings Goals from your Accounts List, you won't see how much you've contributed from that account, or what your available balance is after Savings Goals contributions. Some users prefer seeing only their full account balances.
To Hide Savings Goals:
Click the three dots in the upper right of the Accounts List
Deselect Show Savings Goals Breakdown so there is no longer a checkmark next to it
When hidden:
Account shows full balance only
Goal contribution amounts disappear from the account listing
The account balance in the upper right (when account is selected) shows full balance
Ashley's Perspective
Ashley keeps Savings Goals visible. Seeing the "available after goals" amount helps them remember that some money is already earmarked for their car savings goal. This visual reminder prevents accidental overspending.
Important Notes
Closed accounts can be hidden, but open accounts cannot be excluded from your Accounts List, reports, or Spending Plan. This ensures you always see your complete financial picture for active accounts.
Hidden doesn't mean gone. Your data remains intact:
Closed account history stays in reports
Savings goals continue accumulating
You can unhide items anytime by re-checking the options
Mobile App
These hiding options are also available in the Quicken Simplifi Mobile app. For specific instructions on using these features on mobile, please refer to the mobile app documentation.
The Bottom Line
Hiding closed accounts and savings goals helps you customize Simplifi to match your preferences. Consider hiding closed accounts if they clutter your view, but think carefully about hiding savings goals since it serves as a helpful reminder of allocated funds.
Hint: If you're unsure whether to hide savings goals, try it both ways for a few days. You might find that seeing your "true" available balance (after goal contributions) helps with daily spending decisions, or you might prefer the simplicity of seeing full balances. There's no wrong choice—pick what supports your financial habits best.
