What are my loan payment options?

You can track your loan payments in Quicken in one of two ways, depending on how you prefer to manage your schedule.

Use a loan payment reminder

If you want Quicken to remind you when the payment is due and track it on the Bills & Income tab, set up a loan payment reminder. This is the best option if you want to see upcoming payments along with your other scheduled bills.

To set up a loan payment reminder:

  1. Go to the Bills & Income tab.

  2. Select Add Reminder, then choose Loan as the reminder type.

  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to enter the payment amount, frequency, and other loan details.

For more information, see Using the Bills tab.

Use a memorized payee

If you prefer to enter payments manually in the register, you can memorize the loan payment details as a payee. Quicken will then suggest the correct split categories and amounts using QuickFill.

To create a memorized payee:

  1. Enter the loan payment in your register once.

  2. Right-click the transaction and select Memorize Payee.

  3. Choose to include splits if the payment has multiple categories.

  4. Save the payee with a recognizable name.

For more information, see Working with memorized payees.
