Fix reports that don’t print as they appear on screen

Printed reports may not match what you see onscreen due to page layout, scaling, or printer settings. If columns are cut off, text is compressed, or the alignment looks wrong, use the options in the Print dialog to correct the layout before printing.

What to check

The steps below show how to adjust the print settings so the report layout more closely matches what you see on screen.

  • Preview before printing
Click Preview at the bottom of the Print dialog to view the report layout before printing. Use this to check alignment, spacing, and page breaks.

  • Adjust scaling
In the Page scaling section, select Adjust to fit width to scale the report to the width of the printed page. This prevents columns from being cut off.

  • Switch to landscape orientation
In the Orientation section, select Landscape if the report has many columns. This gives the layout more horizontal space.

  • Fit to one page wide
Alternatively, use the Fit to option to specify the report should print within 1 page wide. You can leave the height field blank to allow multiple pages vertically.

  • Change fonts if needed
Use the Change Font buttons under Fonts to reduce font size and fit more information on each page.

  • Export if necessary
If you're still having trouble, use Export to to save the report as a CSV file or print to Quicken PDF Printer, then print it using your PDF viewer.
